Don't tighten the screws completely at this step, but rather after all the frame has been assembled.

Just like mentioned above, don't tighten the screws completely at this step; leave them loose. It also helps if you can slide the screws from side to side in the slots (this may require you to cut out some paint with a razor blade or other tool). This will help in squaring up the whole assembly towards the end of the build.
